Welcome to my new blog! I am so glad that you are joining me on this new leg of my crochet adventure. I have been toying with the idea of a blog for a little while now, and I decided that 2020 was the year to make it happen. I have some ideas for what the blog will be, but I am definitely leaving the possibilities open. A little about me: Shadow photo bombing my pattern test shoot. I am a full time graduate student pursuing a PhD in mathematics that spends as much free time as possible with a crochet hook in my hand. A good portion of the time I don't have a crochet hook, I have a coffee cup! I have been crocheting avidly for several years now. I actually started the craft when I was much younger, but it just didn't stick. About half way through my undergraduate career (getting a B.S. degree in mathematics with a minor in agriculture), crochet became my creative outlet and my stress relief. And I haven't stopped since! Hello again! It has been a while hasn't it? As it did for many others, my life got a little hectic last year. The good news? I didn't stop making! Let's recap my goals for the year and see how I did. 2020 Review At the begining of 2020, I made the following list of goals for my charity makes. Goals: Sections: 100 Hats: 30 Scarves:10 Blankets: 2 Other: 8+ I am happy to say that I achieved most of these, and really exceeded that section count goal! My 2020 totals are: Totals: Sections: 146 Hats: 33 Scarves & Cowls: 7 Blankets:3 Other:11 Almost everything on that list was given to Warm Up America or in their name. I did donate a few things to silent auctions as fundraiser items as well. 2021 Goals Going into 2021, I have another list of donation goals. It is largely the same as last year, or at least close. As I grow as a maker, making things to donate to people will always be an huge part of what I do. However, I do want to spend some time designing and growing o
